All patients will need to undergo a screening questionnaire before their appointment at Cibolo Family Smiles. This questionnaire will ask about possible exposure to COVID-19, recent travel, and any symptoms you’re experiencing (dry cough, fever, etc) that may indicate infection with COVID-19. You must answer these questions again upon arriving at our office for your appointment.
We have taken steps to maintain proper social distancing at our office. First, we have reconfigured our waiting area to ensure patients can wait for their appointments while minimizing the risk of exposure.
Our team is also taking steps to spread out patient appointments throughout the day to reduce the number of people in our office at any given time. In addition, per an executive order of the governor, we ask that you come alone to your appointment unless you are supervising a minor or require assistance coming into and out of our office.
We have always followed all OSHA, CDC, and ADA guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting operatories between patients, but we are now being even more careful to sanitize operatories between each procedure to ensure your safety.
In addition, we are now cleaning all common areas frequently throughout the day using an EPA-registered disinfectant. Frequently cleaning surfaces like countertops, chairs, tables, door knobs and bathrooms minimizes the risk of spreading any infectious disease, including COVID-19.
We have invested in HEPA air filters for each room in our office at Cibolo Family Smiles. These high-efficiency filtration systems eliminate 99.97% of all airborne particles, including viruses, which helps provide our patients and staff with clean, safe air.
Our team members are now wearing enhanced PPE for certain procedures. Along with face masks, gloves, and glasses, we may also wear custom face shields, gowns, caps, and shoe protection, depending on the patient and the procedure.
We also leave all used PPE in the operatory where it was used for proper disposal or sanitizing and reprocessing, ensuring that there is no risk of cross-contamination between patients.
